HUJI Professors Awarded Grants for Groundbreaking Cancer & Wound Healing Research

Congratulations to Prof. Guy Ron from the Racah Institute of Physics on receiving a research grant from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. His collaborative work with Dr. Efrat Shema from the Weizmann Institute and Dr. Mariana Rapsomaniki from the University of Lausanne focuses on developing advanced AI tools for analyzing protein data in cancer tissues. This important research aims to integrate information from various cancer studies, creating a comprehensive database of protein maps across different cancer types.

Additionally, congratulations to Prof. Yossi Buganim from the Faculty of Medicine at Hebrew University on receiving a research grant from the LEO Foundation. His pioneering work centers on fibroblast rejuvenation to enhance wound healing in the elderly. This innovative research seeks to develop new technologies for improving wound healing and addressing age-related skin issues. The LEO Foundation is dedicated to supporting scientific research that advances health, particularly in dermatology, and Prof. Buganim's lab specializes in stem cell biology and nuclear reprogramming technologies for regenerative medicine applications.
