Join our webinar on 18 March 06:00 pm UK Time, examining Hebrew University's history, it's British ties, and future prospects. The webinar is organized by the British Friends of the Hebrew University, in partnership with the Institute of Jewish Studies, University College London.

Background: The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, founded in 1925 by pioneering visionaries, had a strong British influence, with about a third of its first Board of Governors being British. This connection played a key role in the establishment of Israel in 1948. As the University approaches its 100th anniversary in 2025, it reflects on a century of overcoming challenges, achieving academic excellence, and fostering global collaborations. An annual webinar will commemorate this milestone, examining the University's history, its British ties, and future prospects.

Presented by Ambassador Yossi Gal: Vice President for University Advancement and External Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a career diplomat who most recently served Israel as the nation’s Ambassador to France and Monaco (2010-2015) and previously was posted to Washington, D.C. twice, as Director of the Ambassador’s office (1976-1981) and as spokesman of the embassy (1985-1989).
