Begin Your Academic Journey in Israel with Confidence

Earning a bachelor’s degree in a new country can be challenging. With our one-year Mechina program, you'll receive the support and preparation you need to thrive academically and socially as you launch your academic career. Offered through Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School, this preparatory program is designed for high school (secondary school) graduates from abroad who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in Israel but do not meet the requirements for standard admission to a Hebrew University degree program.

 

What You'll Gain as a Mechina Student

  • Intensive Hebrew Language Training: Master Hebrew regardless of your current proficiency level.

  • English Language Support: If you didn't graduate from an English-speaking high school, you’ll also benefit from English courses.

  • Academic Preparation: Courses in mathematics or statistics, Jewish and Israel studies, and introductory subjects like psychology, statistics, economics, biology, physics, research methodology, and academic writing.

  • Credit Opportunities: Some courses may earn credits toward your future BA degree. 


Tailored Support for East Jerusalem High School Graduates

High school graduates from East Jerusalem are invited to apply for our Sadarah/Kidma preparatory program, which focuses on core academic subjects (Hebrew, English, mathematics, and history). This program provides comprehensive preparation for degree studies at Israeli universities, along with continuous support and academic advising throughout the program.

 

Don't speak Hebrew? No problem!

Teaching Hebrew is our specialty, and we'll provide everything you need to succeed in Israeli academia, regardless of your current proficiency level.

 

Direct Admission Opportunities

Students who complete the Mechina program with high grades can qualify for direct admission to various faculties and programs at Hebrew University, without needing the Psychometric Exam or SAT.

 

Eligible programs include:

  • Faculty of Natural Sciences: Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics
  • Additional Faculties: Law, Social Work, Psychology, Medical Sciences, Occupational Therapy, Economics, Business Administration, Criminology, and all programs in Humanities (except Cognitive Studies) and Social Sciences
