The Faculty of Dental Medicine & its Faculty

Located on the Ein Kerem campus, Hebrew University’s Faculty of Dental Medicine was founded in 1953 as a joint initiative between Hebrew University, Hadassah, and the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity.  Since its establishment, the faculty has dedicated itself to the training of the next generation of dentists and dental auxiliary professionals, in addition to implementing extensive community outreach and treatment programs and conducting innovative research on the craniofacial complex and dental diseases.

The Faculty of Dental Medicine houses the following 9 departments:

Approximately 425 undergraduate dental students are enrolled in our six-year D.M.D. academic program, with 80 new students admitted yearly. In addition to their clinical training, our students engage in research training from an early stage in their academic and/or professional careers through our Biomedical Graduate Program which boasts over 100 MSc and PhD students.
Our Dental School offers 9 post graduate specialization programs (3-5 years) in various fields of dentistry, continuing education programs (1-2 years) for trainees, and annual courses for professional dental hygienists and dental assistants in the field.

Admissions Requirements

In order to be considered for our MSc program, candidates must first identify and secure a research supervisor. This is typically done by directly contacting relevant researchers whose area of focus resonates with your research interests. In addition, applicants must submit proof of:

• A bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution of higher learning in fields such as biology, immunology, biotechnology, pharmacology, and more. Practicing physicians (MD) and dentists (DMD, DDS) are also eligible to apply.
• A cumulative GPA of 85 or above. (Applicants with a lower GPA may appeal to the Exceptions Committee through the Program Coordinator).
• An official transcript of studies from your bachelor’s degree.
• English language proficiency for all applicants from non-English-speaking countries (TOEFL and IELTS are recognized).

Program Details

Since its beginning as one of the world’s first civilizations to its contemporary status as the most populous country on earth, China has had a profound influence on global politics, culture and the economy. Through a strongly interdisciplinary curriculum, Hebrew University's MA in China Studies program offers students the opportunity to become experts in this country.

Combining fields of study and research methodologies in the humanities and social sciences, the program embarks on an academic expedition of China, beginning with Chinese history, archaeology, philosophy, intellectualism, political dogma, economy, anthropology, law, and China’s interactions with Asian and European cultures in the pre-modern era. The program continues with an in-depth discussion of the country’s traditional, modern and contemporary culture, society and politics.

The comprehensive curriculum is taught by prominent faculty members of the Department of Asian Studies, the oldest in Israel, and is complemented by opportunities for scholarly exchange in the form of international workshops, conferences and guest lectures by world-renowned scholars.

Teaching Faculty

Faculty members of the Department of Asian Studies are renowned experts with extensive teaching and research experience, including:

• Prof. Michal Biran, an expert in the history of Inner Asia and a member of the Israeli Academy of Science and Humanities. Prof. Biran led the ERC-funded project “Mobility, Empire and Cross-Cultural Contacts in Mongol Eurasia,” and is the editor of The Cambridge History of the Mongol Empire (2 vols, forthcoming 2022).
• Dr. Tamar Groswald Ozery, a lawyer and an expert in contemporary China’s law and economy and the relationship between law, politics and economic development in contemporary China.
• Prof. Orna Naftali, an anthropologist specializing in modern and contemporary China. Dr. Naftali’s areas of expertise include children, youth and education; women, gender and the family; science and subjectivity; national identity, militarism and the nation-state; and rights and legal consciousness of children and youth in China.
• Prof. Yuri Pines, an expert in early Chinese political thought, traditional Chinese political culture, early Chinese historiography and the history of pre-imperial (pre-221 BCE) China.
• Prof. Gideon Shelach, an archaeologist who specializes in Northeast China. Prof. Shelach is currently heading the Fuxin Regional Archaeological Project in Liaoning province, as well as the ERC project “The Wall,” which focuses on walls in 10th-12th Mongolia and North China.

Faculty of Humanities

The Faculty of Humanities at Hebrew University is committed to shedding light on civilizations past and present as revealed through history, language, literature, religion, philosophy, music, art and material culture. Admissions Requirements

Applicants must hold an upper-advanced level of English (a minimum TOEFL score of 80 or a minimum IELTS score of 6).

Applicants who did not major in Chinese studies at the BA level will be subject to additional requirements, namely the completion of the Chinese level of HSK4 or higher, an introductory-level course in Classical Chinese, and complementary courses in Chinese history.

Program Details
Hybrid study options available for 1 semester

The Hebrew University’s M.A. in Archaeology & the Ancient Near East provides a unique, concentrated opportunity to examine the history and culture of the Land of Israel during the Bronze and Iron Ages.  Students become acquainted with the main topics and methodologies in the fields of archaeology, regional history, and ancient texts and languages.

The program combines intensive courses taught by leading experts with hands-on field experience at major excavations and surveys throughout the country. Students also have access to the cutting-edge facilities of the Institute of Archaeology, including the Computational Archaeology Laboratory (with 3D scanning), the Laboratory for Archaeological Materials and Ancient Technologies, and the Institute’s renowned Collection Room.

Students enroll in the non-research track, which comprises one year of study, and upon successful completion of the program may proceed to a research track in the following year, which includes writing an M.A. thesis.

Alumni of the program are well-positioned for further degree studies and academic careers in archaeology, as well as for professional careers in museums, education and tourism.

Faculty of Humanities

Founded in 1934, the Institute of Archaeology is an independent research and teaching unit within the Faculty of Humanities. Since its inception, it has been involved in major archaeological endeavors and interdisciplinary research programs. Many of the excavations conducted by faculty members are reported and published in the institute's Qedem Series.

This program is run collaboratively with Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS). Over 2,000 students from 90 countries worldwide convene in Jerusalem each year to participate in RIS programs, ranging from intensive language courses to short-term courses, internships, study abroad, and full-fledged MA degree programs offered in English. RIS’ innovative programming, diverse community, and rich student life offer an unforgettable, transformative experience for students of all backgrounds and academic pursuits.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must have an internationally accredited bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 80 or above on the Israeli scale (or the equivalent).  Continuation to the research track is conditional upon completing the non-research M.A. program with an average grade of 90 or above. 

Candidates must also demonstrate a high level of English proficiency by providing one of the following documents:

• a TOEFL exam score of 80 or above
• an IELTS exam score of 6 or above
• an Amir or Amiram exam score of 120 or above

Applicants who completed degrees at universities at which English is the sole language of instruction, as well as applicants who completed degrees in English Language and Literature, may request exemption from this requirement. Such applicants must submit documentation from their university verifying English as the language of instruction. Exemption is not automatic and is determined on a case-by-case basis.

The Institute of Chemistry and its Faculty

Hebrew University’s Institute of Chemistry is the first to have been established in Israel. The Institute was founded by Andor Fodor, recruited by Prof. Albert Einstein, himself. It has since gained worldwide recognition as a center of chemistry research and academic excellence, boasting multidisciplinary programs that are designed to cultivate the next generation of our world’s leading chemists.

The Institute offers master’s students an opportunity to study and conduct research in state-of-the-art facilities under the mentorship of prestigious faculty, and to be a part of an institution renowned for publishing in top journals, and generating patents and intellectual property in a wide-range of industries.

Admissions Requirements

In order to be considered for an MS. program, candidates must first identify an available position in one of the Institute’s research groups. This is typically done by directly contacting relevant Principal Investigators who are involved in research that reflects your interests. In addition, applicants must submit proof of:

A bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a closely related subject from a recognized institution of higher learning. (Candidates holding degrees outside of the chemical sciences may be admitted only after formal review and approval by the program Head, and may be required to supplement studies with additional courses).

• A cumulative GPA of 80 or above. (Candidates with lower GPAs may be admitted only after formal review and approval by the program head).
• An official transcript of studies from your bachelor’s degree.
• English language proficiency as detailed in the application guidelines (TOEFL and IELTS are recognized).
• Applicants who have not yet received their Bachelor’s degree certificate may attach an official transcript that includes the cumulative degree grade point average.

Since 1970, nearly 1,000 students from over 100 countries – from low- and high-income regions of the world including North America and Western Europe – have graduated from Hebrew University’s International Master of Public Health program.

Most IMPH graduates return home after completing their degree to assume leadership positions in governmental and non-governmental agencies and in clinical and academic institutions. Program alumni have made impressive contributions to the healthcare systems in their home communities. An active alumni program facilitates continued professional development and personal contact.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, graduates of the IMPH program who hold key public health positions in countries around the world were tasked with setting local policies and coordinating health services and other frontline Covid-19 response activities.  Many reached out to their alma mater and former classmates for professional advice and guidance.

Teaching Faculty

The faculty of the Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine comprises experts in the fields of medicine and public health. They are highly experienced researchers and practitioners, many of whom play pivotal roles in Israel’s first-rate healthcare system. Their fields of expertise range from epidemiology, biostatistics, economics to ethics, health promotion science, and more.

The program’s teaching staff includes experts such as:

Prof. Yehuda Neumark – Associate Professor of Epidemiology and former Director of the Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine. Prof. Neumark’s research focuses on the epidemiology of alcohol and drug use and misuse, and on the application of information and communication technologies for promoting health among young adults.

Prof. Ronit Calderon-Margalit – Public Health Physician and Associate Professor of Epidemiology at the Braun School, where she serves as Director of the Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine.   

Prof. Ora Paltiel – Associate Professor at Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine, where she serves as Director of the International MPH Program. Dr. Paltiel’s research interests include cancer and clinical epidemiology and quality of care.

Dr. Yael Bar-Zeev – Public Health Physician, Behavioral Scientist, Epidemiologist, and Tobacco Treatment Specialist, Dr. Bar-Zeev’s research focuses on tobacco control and smoking cessation, specifically in pregnant women and other vulnerable populations.

Dr. Hagit Hochner – Genetic Epidemiologist and Senior Lecturer at the Braun School, Dr. Hochner’s research interests lie in the field of genetic epidemiology, focusing on genetic and environmental risk factors for cardiovascular and metabolic traits and diseases.

Hebrew University-Hadassah Braun School of Public Health and Community Medicine

The Braun School is the oldest school of public health in Israel, offering a range of master’s and doctoral programs. Its mission is to strive toward improving the physical, mental and social welfare of the global community, with a commitment toward excellence in multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary public health research, training and practice. These goals are achieved through cultivating and sustaining an integrated multidisciplinary environment that facilitates top-notch research, teaching, and creative academic activity from the molecular to the population level.

The School offers curricula that promote integrated multidisciplinary approaches to public health and prepare the next generation of researchers, teachers and practitioners to effectively meet current and future public health challenges. In addition, it supports interdisciplinary research projects among Braun School researchers and in collaboration with scientists, clinicians and public health specialists from Hebrew University, the Hadassah Medical Organization and other leading research institutions in Israel and abroad.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must hold an academic degree (BA/BSc, MA/MSc, MD) in medicine, dentistry, nursing, another allied health field, or in one of the basic biological or social sciences relevant to health from a recognized university. Diploma/Advanced Diploma degrees are not recognized as academic degrees by Hebrew University.

​Applicants who hold only a bachelor’s degree must have obtained an overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 80 in their undergraduate studies.

​Practical experience in public health is taken into account, as is academic achievement. A strong command of English is required.

A limited number of scholarships is available for selected students from lower-income countries. These scholarships cover virtually all costs related to participation in the program, including tuition, housing, basic living expenses, medical insurance, social/cultural activities, administration fees and textbooks.

Applicants from high-income countries pay the usual university tuition for Master's Programs, and are included in our social programs. Tuition fees do not cover accommodations, books, medical insurance, or a stipend. A young state in the Land of the Bible, where ancient meets modern, secular meets religious, diverse cultures convene from across the globe, and conflict and coexistence converge – Israel is a country brimming with juxtapositions, making it a fascinating topic of study. In the MA in Israel Studies program, students learn to examine the historical processes that led to the creation of contemporary Israeli society and politics, the complicated relationships between the various populations that reside here, and the ways in which Israel copes with these challenges on a domestic and international scale.

This program incorporates courses from a wide range of academic disciplines, including history, sociology, anthropology, political science, international relations, economics, and religious studies. Prof. Menahem Blondheim, program head and senior faculty member of the Department of Communication and Journalism, who specializes in the role of communication in American and Jewish history, as well as the history of media.

The LLM degree in International Law and Human Rights is taught in English at the prestigious Hebrew University of Jerusalem Faculty of Law. The two-semester program is open to law school graduates holding an LLB or JD degree who have a good command of English and a GPA of 85 or above.

The program offers students a rich variety of specialized courses in the main fields of international law - international organizations, conflict resolution, the laws of war, immigration law and international criminal law - as well as key areas of human rights law, including multiculturalism, human rights, counterterrorism, and transitional justice.

The studies take place in Jerusalem, one of the world’s most complex conflict zones with ongoing human rights challenges, lending students a unique perspective to the issues being studied. In addition to the context of the program, its rigorous and thought-provoking curriculum offers valuable experience to those seeking careers in law, academia, or international organizations.

Courses are taught by legal scholars who are leading academics and experienced practitioners in the field, including legal advisors to international organizations, NGOs and governments such as the UN and ICRC; members of international human rights organizations; and leading academics from Israel and abroad. Among the distinguished faculty members is Prof. Malcolm Shaw, author of the world’s leading textbook on international law.

The program offers both thesis and non-thesis tracks, as well as an internship program in conjunction with Hebrew University’s Rothberg international school. Students with a minimum average of 85 may apply to the thesis track after the completion of the fall semester.

Career & Networking 

The LLM in International Law and Human Rights at Hebrew University provides an expedient gateway to a career as a lawyer or legal advisor in either the public or private sector.  Graduates of this program continue on to prestigious PhD degrees, to placements in leading international organizations and NGOs, such as the U.N., and to positions in elite law firms.

Teaching Faculty

The program’s teaching staff consists of prominent academics and practitioners, many of whom have served on UN human rights committees and as legal advisers to governments and international organizations.

The head of the program, Prof. Gideon Parchomovsky, is an expert on intellectual property, property law, and cyber law. He has written numerous articles for major law reviews on property and liability regulations, insider trading, trademarks, domain names, and patents.

Prof. Guy Harpaz researches EU law, EU-Israel relations, public international law and international human rights law. Prof. Harpaz has published numerous articles in leading law journals, and additionally serves as Hebrew University’s Dean of Students.

Prof. Yuval Shany, Vice-Chair of the UN Human Rights Committee, teaches the course “International Human Rights Law.” His research interests are international human rights law, international criminal law, international courts, and the regulation of cyber-space.

Prof. Malcolm Shaw teaches the course “Human Rights and the Law of the Territory,” and has an international reputation for advising on territorial disputes, law of the sea, recognition of foreign governments, human rights, and other matters. The M.A. in Law with specialization in Human Rights and Transitional Justice provides a strong background in the legal aspects of human rights issues, focusing on the pursuit of justice in international courts of law on behalf of disenfranchised populations. 

Advocating and protecting human rights, especially those of people who have been forced to flee from their homes, requires a broad range of skill sets and a profound knowledge of international law, as well as of local legislation and judicial systems in the countries of origin and host countries.

The program’s rich curriculum is taught by top Hebrew University scholars and practitioners. The studies take place in Jerusalem, one of the world’s most complex conflict zones with ongoing human rights challenges, which gives students a unique perspective to the issues being examined. Teaching Faculty

The M.A. in Law with Specialization in Human Rights and Transitional Justice program’s teaching staff consists of prominent academics and practitioners, many of whom have served on UN human rights committees and as legal advisers to governments and international organizations.

The head of the program, Prof. Gideon Parchomovsky, is an expert on intellectual property, property law and cyber law. He has written numerous articles for major law reviews on property and liability regulations, insider trading, trademarks, domain names and patents.

Prof. Guy Harpaz researches EU law, EU-Israel relations, public international law and international human rights law. Prof. Harpaz has published numerous articles in leading law journals. Today, Prof. Harpaz also serves as the Hebrew University Dean of Students.

Prof. Yuval Shany, who is Vice-Chair of the UN Human Rights Committee, teaches the course “International Human Rights Law.” His research interests are international human rights law, international criminal law, international courts and the regulation of cyber-space.

Prof. Malcolm Shaw, who teaches the course “Human Rights and the Law of the Territory,” has an international reputation for advising on territorial disputes, law of the sea, recognition of foreign governments, human rights, and other matters. He is the author of a widely-cited textbook on international law.

Hebrew University’s Racah Institute of Physics was established in 1970, and is named after Prof. Giulio Racah, one of the founding fathers of physics in Israel. Located on the Edmond J. Taught by internationally recognized scholars, the thesis-track MSc in Environmental Economics and Management program equips students with solid foundations in economics, advanced quantitative tools, and frontier knowledge in this critically important field. The program provides deep understanding of the interaction between economic systems and the environment, and offers students practical tools for internalizing environmental and natural resource considerations in policy and managerial decision-makings. Students enjoy an active, cohesive and stimulating academic environment which paves the way for a productive career. 

The two-year master’s program, taught entirely in English, focuses on economic issues related to the environment, natural resources, marketing and finance. The curriculum includes courses on environmental economics, the economics of natural resource use, the regulation of agricultural product marketing in local and export markets, industrial organization, the economics of the farming family, and game theory, as well as areas of micro- and macro-economics, econometric analytical tools, and more.

Students participate in research projects supervised by the department's faculty members and write theses that explore research questions related to environmental, natural resource and agricultural economics, as well as marketing and finance.

Environmental economics is an emerging field that is extremely relevant in today’s world. As a result, there is increasing demand for environmental economists both in Israel and around the world. Israel is not only a major exporter of agricultural produce but also of agricultural expertise. Students in the MSc in Horticulture degree program benefit from this extensive knowledge and learn how to apply it. The program provides a solid understanding of the fundamental processes of fruit trees, ornamental plants, flowers and forest trees from the perspective of physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and ecology. The curriculum covers a wide range of fields, including plant protection, soil and water, genetic engineering, biotechnology, and food science.

Hebrew University’s Department of Horticulture conducts a wide range of cutting-edge research in fields such as genetic engineering of fruit trees and ornamental plants, culture-based plant propagation, protein engineering and genomics, and molecular control of processes such as aging and wilting, flower and fruit development, flower pigmentation, hormone signals, and more. Students are taught the most advanced tools for conducting biological and agricultural research and applications.

While researching their theses, students draw on the theoretical tools they acquired in order to explore problems rooted in the practical needs of agriculture and forestry both in Israel and on a global scale. They apply the knowledge and skills they learn in class in researching real-life issues that impact agriculture, and they explore practical solutions for advancing the science of horticulture.

Program Details

Sacred to Jews and Christians alike, the Bible is one of the most influential books in human history.   Hebrew University’s MA in the Bible and the Ancient Near East equips students with the knowledge and skills to analyze the various layers of these scriptures and understand the region from which they originated, while living in the heart of the Land of the Bible.

Offered by Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS) in conjunction with the Bible Department at the Faculty of Humanities, the program focuses on contemporary Biblical studies (Hebrew scriptures) and provides grounding in Biblical Hebrew, with the option to study Modern Hebrew from beginner through advanced levels. Participants also acquire a sound knowledge of Akkadian, the lingua franca of the Ancient Near East, and the history and culture of the region. Program Details

Leading a nonprofit organization is a rewarding task that requires in-depth knowledge and practical skills. Hebrew University’s MA in Nonprofit Management and Leadership provides students with the foundations of nonprofit organizational development and management, drawing on the vast expertise of Israel’s most established Faculty of Social Work.

The core and elective courses in the program cover organizational, social and financial aspects of nonprofit management and leadership. Students learn about leadership models, social policy and entrepreneurship, community organizing, philanthropy, and more. For a full list of courses, click here. Although not a requirement of the degree, students have the option to enroll in Modern Hebrew courses for an additional fee. They may also choose one elective course outside the MA program if it is related to the nonprofit field.

The program is three semesters long and runs from October through September. During the autumn and spring semesters, students attend courses two full days a week. During the summer semester, they participate in four weeks of marathon courses (seven hours a day, two days a week, with each course lasting one week). Students also partake in a supervised team project and collaborate with a nonprofit organization during their year of study. Those who wish to write a thesis may do so if they enroll at the Hebrew University for an additional year as a research student at the School of Social Work and Social Welfare.

Graduates of the program continue on to management positions in the nonprofit sector, working with marginalized populations, individuals with special needs, government agencies, and cultural, religious, and educational institutions.

The teaching staff specializes in a wide range of areas. Lecturers include:

Prof. Ron Shor, academic head of the MA program, whose research focuses on health promotion and educational programs for university students with severe mental illness, among other topics. In addition to his lecturing, Dr. Mirvis is the academic head of the Melton Centre's Jewish Education track, within the School of Education.

The Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare

Hebrew University’s Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare was established in 1958 and was the first in Israel to offer a bachelor’s degree in social work.

The School has over thirty full-time faculty members, employs more than a hundred field instructors and many adjunct faculty specializing in various aspects of social work and social welfare. Applicants who completed degrees at universities at which English is the sole language of instruction, as well as applicants who completed degrees in English Language and Literature, can request an exemption. Such applicants must submit documentation from their university verifying English as the language of instruction. Exemption is not automatic and is determined on a case-by-case basis.

The goal of the Jerusalem School of Business Administration is to develop the next generation of business leaders. The unique and valuable experiences provided by the International StartUp 360° MBA program enable graduates to land excellent jobs either in Israel or in their home countries and to succeed as entrepreneurs.

There is a high demand for the school’s graduates in the labor market. Alumni have been hired by leading companies in a range of sectors, including Google, Facebook, HP, Pfizer, IBM, IsraCard, Cisco Systems, SodaStream, Deloitte, and others, as well as promising start-ups.

Teaching Faculty

The Jerusalem School of Business Administration and its Faculty

Hebrew University’s Business School prepares its graduates to meet the challenges of today and gives them the tools that will enable them to lead and succeed tomorrow. More than 2,000 students study in the school’s BA, MBA and PhD tracks each year. The faculty members are first-rank academics and professionals whose courses are at the forefront of management knowledge.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from an internationally accredited institution, with a minimum GPA of 3.2 (82) or the equivalent, and must take the GMAT or GRE exam (only the quantitative score is considered). The minimum required GMAT or GRE score depends on the applicant’s GPA.

Candidates from non-English-speaking countries must demonstrate a high level of English proficiency by providing one of the following documents:

• a TOEFL exam score of 90 or above
• or an IELTS exam score of 7 or above

Applicants who have completed their entire degree studies at universities in which the sole language of instruction is English may request an exemption from the English proficiency requirement.

Students who do not have a background in mathematics and statistics will be required to complete two preparatory courses held in the month prior to the start of the program.

Field crops and vegetables cultivation constitutes the main staple food source for the world’s rapidly growing population. In the coming years, these agricultural branches will need to increase yields while minimizing their environmental footprint under continually decreasing resources. In Israel, field crops and vegetables are highly technological and rely on sophisticated agrotechnology and biotechnology.

The MSc in Field and Vegetable Crops degree program aims to prepare students to lead this dynamic field by acquiring a deep understanding of the physiological and biological principles and processes related to crop productivity in the field. Students are encouraged to develop independent critical thinking that enables them to analyze challenges and search for solutions based on professional literature and experimentation.

The curriculum includes basic biological, biochemical, ecological, genetic and molecular research pertaining to crops and vegetables; applied research of agricultural management, and husbandry; and an integration of fundamental research with applied research. Courses provide a deep understanding of crop biology, physiology and developmental processes that determine yield and its limitations. The program aims at preparing students to become active agronomists in complex agro-ecological production systems and agri-business environments. 

The program is offered in a non-thesis (40 HUJI credits) and a thesis (24 HUJI credits) track, each extending over two years.

There is a growing worldwide demand for agronomists who are specialists in sophisticated vegetable and herb production and use methods of precision agriculture. Since Israel is a guiding force in the area of advanced agriculture, especially in the field of crop production, students enjoy a unique opportunity to meet world-class experts and experience cutting-edge agriculture up close.  

Program graduates pursue careers in crop and vegetable management, as well as in agricultural education and in the fields of high-tech food processing, seeds, chemicals and biotechnology. Many continue on to doctoral programs at Hebrew University or other elite institutions in Israel or abroad, followed by academic careers at research institutions or agricultural experiment stations. Others develop agricultural high-tech products.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants to the program must have an undergraduate degree or equivalent from a recognized university in a relevant field, such as agricultural science or nutrition science, and must have a GPA of 80 or above (letter grade B-).

Applicants from non-English speaking countries must demonstrate a high level of English proficiency by providing one of the following documents:

• proof of university-level exemption from English-language studies
• an official letter stating the applicant’s previous academic studies were conducted in English
• a TOEFL score of at least 80
• an IELTS score of at least 6

For the research track, a thesis supervisor must be secured prior to applying. Please go to this website for advice on how to find a supervisor.

It is also possible to start one’s studies in the one-year non-research program in plant sciences and switch to the research track of field and vegetable crops after the first year. This has the advantage that students will have gotten to know the faculty by then and can more easily find a supervisor whose research fields match the student’s interests. Moreover, students in the research track are eligible for scholarships (see below).
